# Mahdi Abdeljaouad

Mahdi Abdeljaouad is a retired Full Professor from the University of Tunis. He received his PhD in mathematics from the University of Washington (Seattle) in 1970. His research and teaching interests include non-commutative algebra, teaching mathematics at a distance, and mathematical education. He is particularly active in the history of Arabic mathematics and the history of mathematics teaching in Arabic/Islamic countries. He has published two critical editions of ancient Arabic mathematics manuscripts and several research papers on Arabic mathematics. He has edited five proceedings of *Colloques maghrebins sur l'histoire des mathématiques arabes* (1988, 1994, 2004, 2010, and 2018).
